Thomas Denetclaw
CRYSTAL — Funeral services for Thomas Wilfred Denetclaw, 78, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Crystal. Hondo Louis will officiate. Burial will be in family cemetery, Crystal. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Denetclaw died Saturday, March 19, in Farmington. He was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Crystal.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Yazzie of Farmington; brother, Leon Denetclaw of Crystal; sisters, Joan Kee, Mae Denetclaw, Lena Denetclaw, all of Crystal; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Denetclaw was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Sarah Denetclaw; brother, Frank Denetclaw; sister, Evelyn Denetclaw; one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Lance Yazzie, Alric Yazzie, James Kee, Jr., Jasper Kee, Valentina Kady.
Victor Friedt
GRANTS — Funeral services and Rosary for Victor Jerome Friedt, 79, will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. Edwin Bryan will officiate.
Friedt died March 19, 2011, in Grants. He was born March 4, 1932, in Mott, N.D.
Friedt served our county as a member of the US Army in the Korean War and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2218. He worked 21 years in the mining industry and retired in 1985. Friedt had a love for polka music, western movies and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Friedt of Grants; children, Vicki Friedt of Grants, Allan Friedt of Belen, Pam Friedt of Grants, Debbie Johnson of Albuquerque, Cindy Alire of Grants, Arnie Friedt of Ute Park, Arnell Friedt of Rio Rancho; siblings, Ray Friedt, Bill Friedt, Anne Bergenheier, Val Friedt; nine grandchildren.
Friedt was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Friedt, Anna Friedt; son, Arlan Friedt; brothers, Jake Friedt, Joe Friedt, Tony Friedt, Alex Friedt, Adam Friedt, Valentine Friedt; sisters, Matilda Friedt, Marie Friedt; one grandson.

Michael Joe
ST. MICHAELS — Funeral services for Michael Calvin Joe, 50, will be 1 p.m., today, March 22, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Michaels. Burial will be in St. Michaels. Visitation will be 12 p.m., March 22, at St. Michaels.
Joe died March 18, 2011, in Phoenix. He was born March 22, 1960, in Winslow, into the Towering House People Clan for the Big Water People Clan.
Joe attended Window Rock School District. He was self-employed as a silversmith.
Survivors include his father, Colbert Joe Sr.; sisters, Darlene Tullie, Shirley Joe, Charlene Johnson, Arlene Joe, Elaine (Cindy) Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Joe; brothers, Leslie Joe, Corbert Junior Joe; sister, Jerilene Joe.
Pallbearers will be Colbert Chischilly, Ryan Chischilly, Francis Chischilly III, Kevin Anderson, Daniel Tullie, Tommy Nelson.
The family will meet at 3B Mercedes Dr., St. Michaels, following services.

Eva Medina
GRANTS — Funeral Services for Eva O. Medina 85, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Clemente Saavedra will officiate.
Medina died March 18, 2011 in Grants. He was born April 17, 1925, in Bryan, Texas.
Survivors include her sons, Manuel Median of Grants, Max Medina of Bakersfield, Calif., Joe Medina of Lancaster, Calif., Robert Medina of Valencia, Calif.; daughters, Molly Medina of Grants, and Erma Garcia of Apple Valley, Calif.; brother, Dagoberto Morales of Grants; sisters, Theresa Garcia of El Paso, Texas, Nancy Ybarra of Elsa, Texas, Vera Garcia of Grants; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
Medina was preceded in death by her parents, Rosendo Morales, Luz Q. Morales; sons, Rudy Rocha, Buben Rocha; daughter, Lucy Medina; brother, Louie Morales; sister, Mary Gonzales.

SMITH LAKE — Services are pending for Tommy Moses, 49.
Moses died Monday, March 21, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 16, 1961, in Fort Defiance, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Coyote By Pass People Clan.

Denny Tsosie
MANY FARMS — Funeral services for Denny Tsosie, 49, will be 10 a.m., March 23, at Red Ridge Friends Church. The Rev. Ray T. Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in Red Ridge family plot.
Tsosie died March 20, 2011, in Chinle. He was born Jan. 21, 1962, in Chinle, into the Start of the Red Streak People Clan for the Water Flow Together People Clan.
Tsosie attended Chinle Boarding School and Ameth, Utah, and he worked with NAPI and he enjoyed watching, playing football and going to church and gospel singspiration.
Survivors include his father, John Tsosie; brothers, Richard Tsosie of Phoenix, Vernon Tsosie of Phoenix, Bennie Tsosie of Many Farmington; sisters, Rita Tsosie, Dollie Blake, Lena Tsosie, all of Many Farms.
Tsosie was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Blake, Johnson Brady, George Norcross, Bruce Toledo, Bruno Toledo, Benny Tsosie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at John Tsosie’s residence, 3 miles west of Conoco, Many Farms, 6 p.m., March 22.
